Due to high sustained winds with extremely high wind gusts coupled with the increasing chance of thunderstorms, Day 2 of the 2025 Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series at Lake Champlain presented by Native Watercraft has been canceled to ensure boater safety. Day 1 has been completed as regularly scheduled.
Bassmaster Kayak Series tournament director Steve Owens has spent the last three days on the phone with the National Weather Service getting updates on the situation. The awards ceremony will take place today (July 26, 2025) at 6:00 p.m. ET.
